Testing
What testing does Hannah use?
Please note testing is not a requirement for seeing Hannah. As stated below there are options available to the individual each stated to give you an estimate of cost.

Routine blood tests from the doc
My first line of testing is bloods through your GP. You can download a free list that you can take to your doctor before our session here. All the tests I want to see are medicare rebatable routine tests. It is important that no matter what the GP who writes you a referral says that you FAST (no morning tea/ coffee) before doing the blood draw ideally between 7am-9am. Please note this does not need to be done before your first appointment and Hannah can individualise requests in your session.
Cost: Free/ private blood testing can also be arranged through Hannah if GP is non compliant
Functional microbiome mapping/ stool analysis

This test can be done prior or after our initial session.
In the last few decades, DNA analysis has transformed the field of microbiology and gut health testing. The Human Microbiome Project and research around the globe have characterised the GI microbiome. More than ever before, we are keenly aware of the health benefits and disease risks brought about by the microorganisms that inhabit the GI tract.
The Complete Microbiome Mapping Test was designed to assess a patient’s microbiome from a single stool sample, with particular attention to microbes that cause disease or that disrupt normal microbial balance and contribute to perturbations in the GI flora and contribute to illness.
The panel is a comprehensive collection of microbial targets as well as immune and digestive markers. It screens for pathogenic bacteria, commensal bacteria, opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses, and parasites.

DNA testing

DNA is an important piece of the puzzle that can help guide behaviour change and treatment decisions. This report examines specific genetic markers offering a personalised insight to get to the root of health issues or as a proactive solution to optimise health and wellness.
The test covers an extensive 92 genes, and 113 SNP’s across the following categories:
-
Digestion
-
Energy
-
Hormones
-
Stress & Cognitive Performance
-
Inflammation
-
Athletic Performance
-
DNA Protection & Repair
-
Detoxification
A genetic strength and weaknesses summary for each section helps to identify key focus areas for health so practitioners can easily see where a patient may be doing well compared to the areas of concern or where a patient could improve.

Cost: $260
Vagina microbiome mapping

Vaginal infections, including bacterial vaginosis (BV), vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), and trichomoniasis (TV), are among the most common reasons for which women seek medical investigation.
Complex ecosystems of microbes reside in the female reproductive tract. The vagina consists of trillions of microorganisms — mostly bacteria, plus some fungi and viruses. A disruption in this ecosystem, usually a deficiency of Lactobacillus and overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria, may result in possible infection and unwanted symptoms.
An estimated 75% of women will have at least one episode of VVC, TV or BV in their lifetime and over 30% of women test positive for BV at any given time, with prevalence rates varying over different populations studied.
The vagina is home to a complex ecosystem of organisms that may include bacteria, viruses, parasites and yeasts. Some of these organisms are important in keeping us healthy as they act to discourage other potential pathogens from thriving. Disruptions in balance of any of these can lead to infections and/or uncomfortable symptoms. Every vaginal microbiome is different and factors such as age, hormonal disruptions and even antibiotic/probiotic use can contribute to changes.

Cost: $185
Dried Urine Test For Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH) analysis

This test takes hormone testing to a whole new level. This test looks at sex hormones and their metabolites, the overall diurnal pattern of free cortisol, and the total distribution of cortisol metabolites in addition to OATs, which provide insight into nutritional deficiencies, oxidative stress, gut dysbiosis, melatonin, neuroinflammation, and more.

Cost: $299-399
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a quantitative test that measures the mineral composition of hair, (precise to parts per million). It is a safe and non-invasive test that reflects the level of nutrients and toxic elements in body tissue.
Importance of Minerals:
Minerals are essential for growth, healing, vitality and wellbeing. They provide structural support in bones and teeth, and maintain the body’s pH, water balance, nerve activity, muscle contractions, energy production and enzyme reactions. They are the basic ‘spark plugs’ of life.
Imbalances and Toxins:
Our health and wellbeing may be aggravated by mineral imbalances and toxic metal excesses, aggravating conditions including cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, migraines, learning difficulties and hyperactivity in children, to name just a few.
